CHAPMANVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR CONSPIRACY TO DELIVER METHAMPHETAMINE

LOGAN, W.Va. – Amos Lesley Holland, 30, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, was sentenced today to two and a half years in a state correctional facility for Conspiracy to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine.


According to court documents and statements made in court, on February 7th, 2021, Trooper Z.S Holden conducted a traffic stop along Rt 10 in Chapmanville, WV, in which Amos Holland was a passenger. Upon a probable cause search of Holland, Trooper Holden located a square, plastic container found to contain a powder like substance suspected to be a heroin or fentanyl. Following a search of the vehicle, a backpack containing numerous plastic bags and precut aluminum foil wrappers were found, along with another backpack located in the trunk of the vehicle, containing multiple clear plastic bags holding a crystal-like substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 366 grams. The substances were sent to a forensic laboratory which determined the crystal-like substance was confirmed to be methamphetamine.


The following individuals were previously prosecuted and convicted as part of this investigation:

·         Fabian Beatty (Charleston, WV) – sentenced to 4 years in prison

·         Tracy Jackson (Atlanta, Ga) – sentenced to 2 years in prison

·         Jordan Turner – sentenced to 5 years on this matter plus 5 years as part of his plea in an unrelated investigation both of which were suspended, and Mr. Turner was sentenced as a Youthful Offender and placed at the Anthony Center.

·         Emily Bledsoe – placed on a Deferred Adjudication Agreement

·         Dylan Bledsoe – sentenced to 2.5 years in prison plus 1 year in jail as part of his plea in an unrelated investigation.


The Logan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office commends the investigative work of the West Virginia State Police on this case.


Judge Codispoti imposed the sentence. Prosecutor David Wandling prosecuted the case.
